SumpThing performance in TOTAL BOOST IN FEET OF HEAD
30 gpm @ 14 feet
20 gpm @ 18 feet
14 gpm @ 20 feet
Elevation ( in feet ) from pumping depth ( in basin or sump ) to discharge
Plus losses through piping and fittings
Plus a small residual
Equals your total feet of head. (performance)
Example:( not meant to reflect your actual losses. For discussion purposes only )
1] From pumping level to discharge is 8.5 feet,
2] pipe line losses are .86psi ( x 2.31) = 2 feet
3] check valve ( required at pump discharge ) .75 psi ( x 2.31 ) = 1.75 feet
4] residual pressure ( after losses ) at discharge 2.5 psi ( x 2.31) = 5.75 feet
Total feet of head required = 18 feet
In this example the sump pump will pump approximately 20 gallons per min ( or 1200 gal. per hour )
At 22 feet of head, the sump pump will pump approx. 10 gallons per min. ( or 600 gal. per hour )
